Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran (born March 10 1949) is an American businesswoman, investor and speaker. She is also a consultant, speaker, syndicated columnist, TV personality, author and author. The Corcoran Group is a New York-based real estate brokerage. In 2001, the company was transferred to NRT at $66 million. Corcoran resigned from the company shortly thereafter. Corcoran was one of the first Shark Tank investors. She was a regular on every episode of ABC's Shark Tank. Corcoran had signed 53 contracts as of February of 2020. Her largest deal was her investment of $350,000 in Coverplay with a 40% stake. Corcoran was the second of a family of 10 kids born to a working class Irish-Catholic couple located in Edgewater, New Jersey. Florence was her mother. She was an excellent household worker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was always changing jobs during Corcoran's career. Her family depended sometimes on food deliveries from a friendly local grocer for free food. Corcoran states that her father was a drunken man who was rude to her mother and sarcastic remarks. Corcoran was struggling at school and discovered later that she had dyslexia. Corcoran began in high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after having attended a Catholic elementary school. Corcoran who was in the process of failing many classes during her freshman year, moved to Leonia High School. There she received a grade of D.
